Pellews, High Street, c. 1912. Library re. 1012B:
Post card made for F.W.N. & Co., Melbourne. J H Pellew occupied a shop/rooms in High St. in 1898. In 1905 he died and Herbert Henry Oxbrow purchased the business from the executor. On the back is written: Dear Madam, We have pleasure in advising that we are now making our first display of Autumn and Winter Novelties, consisting of all that is newest in Millinery, Jackets, Dress Goods, Trimmings, etc. The favour of an early visit of inspection will be esteemed. Yours faithfully, J.H. Pellew & Co.

J.H. Pellew first appears as an occupier of shop/rooms in 1898. In 1905 the buildings on Nos 130, 132, 134, 136, 138 (Lots 329A, 329, pt.328) were demolished and re-erected in January 1906. J.H. Pellew died in 1905 and Herbert Henry Oxbrow purchased the business from the executor of the estate.
